This is a great way to see native animals from your car or by parking your car and walking. We live in AK and stop by here often. There is always something different each time we stop.

We drove to Kenai on the last day of our stay in Anchorage. We loved the all the animals. We saw moose, carabou, bears, owls, lynx and more at this wonderful park and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

Went for a hike but stopped in the visitors center and talked to a ranger for a bit. Very informative and helpful. Nice trails-pretty easy so great for a family with different ages and abilities.

The short walk to Headquarters Lake is well worth the effort. Great views of the Terns, waterfowl and forest. A few mosquitoes but not bad in June. They also have a demonstration cabin and a tradition/historical cabin. This is in addition to the main ranger station. The staff are helpful with queries and if they are not knowledgeable they will... More
