Costs $12 without a guide, $17 with a guide - definitely worth taking a guide. It took about an hour and a half to see the grounds with a guide at a leisurely pace (flat and an easy walk for anyone who'd be concerned with that). It's not a big place but there was plenty to see, from sloths to... More

The nature reserve at Ecocentro Danaus is a great way to get an introduction to Costa Rica's wildlife if you are short on time. The park is not very large, but is packed full of interesting plants and animals. It's very easy to walk through, suitable for small children or elderly folks. Would highly suggest paying the little extra for... More

Our guide Elias was very enthusiastic and gave alot of interesting information while we toured the preserve. We saw sloths, a caiman in the pond, lizards, many colourful birds, blue jeans frog, butterflies (including blue morpho). The highlight for me was the red eyed green tree frog showing all of its bright colours as it climbed up the tree. That... More

Our family just loved this place. It's absolutely beautiful, serene, and so full of wonderful sights. It's fairly small, but there is still plenty to see, and with smaller kids ( 4and 6) it was actually a great size. We saw about 6 sloths, including a mother with a baby on her belly, caiman, all sorts of birds, butterflies, plants,... More

This is a great, easy place to visit right outside of La Fortuna. A lot of visiting the rainforest is experiencing nature and greenery, but you are not always guaranteed to see wild animals all of the time. We saw many, but were told that was rather unusual. So go here. you will see plenty of tree frogs, sloths, we... More

We saw a sloth with a one day old baby, boat-bill herons on their nest, a snake, lots of birds, butterflies, a basilisk eating a cicada bug, blue jeans frog...There is so much in a small area (no hills) and the people want to help show you what they have.

I loved this mini hike. Although you don't walk a lot, you see a ton of insects and animals. Elais was a great guide and was able to show me a sloth at the beginning of the hike and she was much closer to the base of the tree than any other sloth! He was knowledgeable about the plant and... More
