This is an okay museum if you happen to be in the neighborhood. We were on a walking tour from the Frommer's guidebook, which recommended a visit. The first building you enter is the museum, not the house he lived in (which I thought, at first). It has a few interesting artifacts but tends to be a bit over the... More

This museum, while very beautiful, does not extend very well to those who can't read or speak Chinese. A missed opportunity.

The original residence is a modest sized building in the quaint french quarter of Shanghai. The house itself has a nice layout and is preserved with the furnishings of the era, with many of the original personal belongings of Sun Yatsen and Mdm Chang. The museum is actually in an adjacent building which is at the top of the street.... More

It is interesting to take a look into Sun Yat-sen's history as well as one of his residences. He remains unique among 20th century Chinese leaders for having a high reputation both in mainland China and in Taiwan. Take a look if you are interested in the political history of PRC and ROC.

The Former Residence of Sun Yat Sen near Fuxing Park in the French Concession area of Shanghai is a good introduction to the man and his life. Having been described as the "Father of modern China", he played an important role in the country he loved. The museum presents exhibits of his papers and his ideals. The site is well... More

Dr. Sun Yat-sen is the father of modern China. There are 2 things to see for a good price: 1. The former residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen & his wife Soong Ching Ling 2. Sun-Yat Sen Museum The price was $20 RMB per person. In the museum, there are items things other than those that belonged to Dr. Sun. In... More

Beautiful villa in the French Concession that was home to Dr. Sun Yat-sen and his wife Soong Ching Ling. Fascinating early documents and memorabilia in the setting of their home where they entertained visitors from around the world.

Sun Yat-sen, the first President of the Republic of China, lived here for several years with his wife. The house itself is largely preserved as it was. There is also an informative museum in a separate building which contains memorabilia related to the struggle to overthrow the Qing dynasty and establish the republic. Explanatory plaques are in both Chinese and... More
