The islands enjoy a steady temperature of between 80 and 93 degrees (27 C – 33 C) all year round, with adequate rainfall to keep them lush and humid. Over the years we have created a magnificent garden with large collections of heleconias, gingers, palms, flowering trees, fruit trees, spices and ornamentals. New plants are constantly being added to the property. « less

We visited Finca Los Monos on Friday June 14. To reach the farm you can take a taxi from the center of town, takes about 2 dollars per trip (one way). The owner offers guided tours lasting two hours on Fridays and Mondays, 15 dollars per person. Lin is English, married to a gentleman from New Zealand. If you like... More

I was there to take pics for a wedding and didn't get much of a chance to explore unfortunately. But in the extremely brief time I had I got some FANTASTIC pics of the howler monkeys. I can't imagine all the amazing pics I would have gotten if I'd actually been able to look around a bit. Lin was the... More

Lin, the owner, started from scratch and has established a beautiful surrounding. She and her husband live there with a fantastic home and has created a wonderland for those who enjoy tropical plants and trees. She even offers a tour which includes lunch and a swim in their large pool.

Wonderful garden, set up from scratch by an English couple, out of the jungle. Interesting tour through the jungle and through the garden itself, with plants and trees from all over the world, suitable for the hot, wet climate. Chance to see sloths, monkeys, a variety of birds as well as poison dart frogs.

This is a wonderful tour through a tropical garden. We made reservations for the tour and the extra---lunch and use of the pool! It was a magical day! We watched hummingbirds and oropendola feed as we ate our fabulous lunch. The variety of plants at the garden is astounding! It is obvious that a tremendous about of work went into... More

Finca Los Monos Botanical Gardens is an absolute gem in Bocas del Toro. We attended one of the tours and it was absolutely wonderful. Lin, the owner, conducted the tour. She was so enthusiastic as she talked about each species. What a treat. There was a small admission fee charged, but it was well worth it. Tours are offered only... More

Lin, who runs tours of her beautiful Botanical Gardens has been working on this property for 14 years. She and her husband bought this huge tract of land, cleared some of it and she planted trees and plants from all over the world as well as local plants. On the tour which was supposed to be 2 hours but took... More

My husband initially didn't share my enthusiasm for a 'flower walk' but in the end, he was very glad he went, and so was I. The grounds are beautiful and the work that the owners put into the property is unbelievable. Lin was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable about all the plants and had us sampling fruits around... More

Just returned from our second visit to Bocas del Toro. The owner of the hotel we were staying at asked us if we had been to the Botanical Garden yet and we asked him, "what Botanical Garden?" So he drove us to meet Lin Gillingham the owner. The following day we returned for a two hour tour of her botanical... More

I had to go twice and I may go back again before I leave Panama. It is hard to believe that this couple that had a vision of a lovely botanical garden in Bocas del Toro and that they could hack their way in to paradise with machetes (it took two weeks to get to the center of the 23... More
