A relaxing way to view more of the spectacular scenery that is abundant around Yangshou. The unfortunate part of it is the many floating shops/restaurants and photo booths along the way. Having said that, I would say it should be on your to-do list.

This is sold as a peaceful ride on a lovely little river in the country. Instead, you're in a juggernaut going down the M4 Motorway. There are even boats and rafts staggered along the route which try to sell you things. This is not peaceful. Getting on at the beginning can result in wet feet if not carefully managed.
I went to the end of West Street and along the river. There were a number of women there whose families have the bamboo (not PVC pipe) boats and the price was very reasonable and the trip was very enjoyable. ONe hour trip was enough but it was cool and in February. Good experience
Even in January when it's cold. You're on a quiet little river that's clear enough to see the bottom. the fact that you can see the bottom of a lake in china is amazing so really what are you waiting for
On first sight it seems an overcrowd event, but once you're on the river....wow...your hear nothing, but experience a lot. Nature at its best. Trip takes about 1 1/2 h
This raft ride puts you right down on a beautiful, clear river amid the fantastic "gum drop" mountains of the Guilin country. Don't miss it!
Wow, was relaxing. Only problem was the cold :D I also tried to drive a bamboo boat. Was really nice :)
Be prepared to get your feet wet - or lift them up as you go through the riffles! It was a great way to travel and appreciate the beauty of the karsts.
The trip was a nice way to see the area and the interestingly shaped mountains. The four person maximum on the rafts made for a nice intimate trip.
This is one of the easy things to do in Yangshuo, and one of the most rewarding as well. It's easy to book one of these rides in the city. A car/taxi takes you to where it all starts, and from there dozens and dozens and rafts sail the river.
It's not a very intimate activity, as you do share...
