Excellent quality of their program. The renovation has been undertaken 2 years ago is excellent, a very high level, the salons & bar are marvellous. Just dont like the location of the Teatro, but its there for over 100 years, its in the city center that our days is not a very nice location.

The teatro municipal is a beautiful turn of the century theatre in the heart of downtown Sao Paulo. It is a great way to see the former decadence of the colonial hub and is still a beautiful structure, if maybe could use a bit of renovation. We were pleasantly treated to a Saturday performance of the symphony orquestra and recommend... More

The architecture of this theater is marvelous! It seems that you have travelled in time as you get in. There are many shows. Every saturday at 20 and sunday at 11, you will find classical music performances from the symphonic orchestra. But watch out when walking around the theater, it is not a very friendly neighborhood.

We watched a performance of the local symphony orchestra and it turned out to be a very nice event, of course the location is very nice as well! Well worth the trip to the centre.

Anyone who is visiting the city and loves art should pay a visit to this beautifully designed building in the heart of old São Paulo, especially if the city's symphony orquestra or the lyric choir is to perform. During daytime, the theater is easily accessible by subway (Anhangabaú Station). At night, however, it is advisable to go by car, for... More

this buidling on the outside. It's great architecture, like so much in the old part of town, but everything is so run down here now. Must have been a great site 50-80 years ago!

Teatro Municipal has been a kind of a "hideout" for me in many occasions, 20 years ago, when I was a student at a law college nearby. I consider myself one of the luckiest people to having had the opportunity to listen to good music during lunch time when all around the Theatre was at the hetic pace of São... More
