My toddler loved going in the train. You get very nice views from town lake, zilker park and the trail. You can also have some graet fun in the playground right at where the train starts. I would highly recommend to family with small children.

My husband and I rode the Zilker Zephyr and had a great time. It's about a 20 minute ride around Zilker Park and cost $8 for all of us. It was good, cheap fun on a pretty day.

Kids love it. Adults tolerate it. All in all it is a cute novelty around the whole park which is fun for the kidlets!

Admittedly, my review is slightly biased. During the summer of 1986, I was an employee of the Zilker Park RR as an "Engineer"! But, it has changed over the years. Recently, on a rare trip back to Austin, I took an opportunity with a friend to ride the train as a visitor. The staff was very friendly and, offered me... More

This is a fun, inexpensive activity to do with people of all ages when the weather is good. The ride has great views of the park and lake. Combine it with a dip in Barton Springs Pool, a trip to the lovely playground and/or a meal at Shady Grove for a day out!

This was a dollar well spent. The train ride was lengthy enough, and gave you a magnificent view of downtown Austin and the Colorado River. Nice ride and good price.

In town for a few days we ventured back over to Zilker Park a park we had enjoyed years ago. While I watched my 3 little ones play my husband stood in line to purchase tickets for the next train time. Tickets were $2 for kids and $3 for adults, infants were free. The ride lasted about 20 minutes and... More

A favorite Austin experience! I took my 5 year old son while visiting. It was the first time for both of us. I must say that I too loved it! It is an excellent way to see the park. The ride was a lot longer than I expected it to be, and covered a lot of ground. The ride loads... More

Want to make memories with your family? Go ride the train. It's an old favorite down at Zilker park and is a wonderful way to slow down and enjoy the outdoors. Your kids will remember it always. enjoy the park's other amenities afterwards. Zilker is a treasure and the train is a fun memory-making throwback to yesteryear.
