We just viewed the capitol from the outside, due to time constraints, but the building and grounds alone are worth seeing. We got great pictures.

The free tour of Texas State Capitol was well worth the effort. The guide was very knowledgeable and provided a really interesting tour. Not to be missed in you are in downtown Austin.

Only visited the grounds and saw the building from the outsde. We did this at night when the Capitol is well lit. It makes an impressive sight at night. Very nice grounds. This building is just amazing and to think that all the granite is from the town quarries. Just incredible... rivals the whitehouse.

I have seen better. I have seen worse. The grounds are nice, but they don't have any parking. I hear the the squirrels will eat nuts right out of your hand, but I did not try that.

I've been many times, but the beauty and history still amaze me every time. Just a few blocks down from all the shopping and bars. Best part is its free and very well air conditioned :)

Again a great place to visit. From the outside the building resembles St Pauls Cathedral in London. Join one of the guided tours (all timed)

Taller than the Whitehouse. Beautiful structure and architecture. Ha Ha! Learn the R-e-a-l history of Texas rather than the stereotype version.

Take the time go walk up to the top of the rotunda. The view is quite impressive. The grounds are lovely and the volunteers and staff all were extremely warm and helpful.
