I took my kids, 17 and 13, to visit Frontier Texas while we were passing through Abilene. It lived up to its billing. The Museum is newly renovated, and offers a unique approach to explaining the history of the settling of Texas. You start in a theatre where a Host Cowboy summarizes Texas' history, and introduces several characters representing historical... More

We really enjoyed Frontier Texas. It was very engaging for our kids, and great content for us (as adults) as well. Well worth your time if you are in Abilene.

I googled place to see while in Abliene, this place was #1. It's worth a stop. Very up to date for a small town museum. There are 2 IMAX... More

Spent Saturday afternoon at Frontier Texas and had a wonderful time. My companion was a special needs adult who likes "old fashioned" and "cowboy". The entire experience more than met my expectations. There were lots of interactive exhibits. The interactive held my interest and my companion was very able to relate to the exhibits. She was fascinated by the stories... More

We enjoyed our afternoon here with family! It was great for the kids to learn about Texas and even the grandparents enjoyed the exhibits. Several opportunities for photo ops and we enjoyed the open grassy area outside with the slide afterward! The film was a bit much for our youngest one (it simulates a storm), but the rest of us... If you love Texas and the old west, you will enjoy your time here! Very educational and good experience. Loved the videos and the way actors portrayed real people, like Cynthia Ann Parker...how they lived and what they went through.

Great interactive exhibits for kids and the tickets are affordable. My daughter, who was four when we went, was a little scared of the "storm room," which was a 360 degree film about frontier life in Texas. They do warn you about this when you go in and you can skip it if your kids are nervous of storms and/or... More

Just like Abilene this is a hidden treasure, wife and I loved the experience. Great way to tell the story of the old west and how important Abilene is. Recommemd a visit here to all that come to Abilene.
