Hard to tell when you're out of Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori. Just keep walking and you run right into Namba...at night the lights are brilliant jewels. So much to offer for shopping, bars, restaurants, nightlife... Really a lot of young people gather here and in Dotonbori. Very friendly and fun place. Every night I was in Osaka I walked here...drawn by... More

This area is pretty near the Dotonbori area Namba station, Nagahoribashi station, Nipponbashi station and Shinsaibashi station is roughly around the same area :) Through walking around you will most definitely either see the station or walk past it :) in this area its all shopping and eating :)

This area is full of shopping. Namba station where you could take train to kix is in here. In osaka, if you stay near namba or shinsaibashi just come to namba station heading for kix airport as JR is not the main train service in osaka. In such a big area, the best way is walking ang walking.

All the lights and sounds. A must see if visiting Osaka. Wait until night and the place lights up! All the shops are open late and there are plenty of places to grab a drink.

If you have visited Japan, you probably know by now that somehow the young Japanese seem to be found in just certain places. Hence, it may be very quiet in other areas and very, very, very crowded in areas where they stay. In Tokyo - Harajuku, Akihabara, Shibuya, etc. In Osaka, the Namba area - Dotonbori, Shinshaibashi, etc. If you... More

Typical "bright lights, big city". Don't really get the hype about the place but the duty free shop is pretty good. Price is really a lot cheaper than regular supermarkets. Can't remember name of the shop but it is located where one purchases tickets for the river cruise.

Namba walk- underground shopping and restaurants recommended, the grid North East of Takashimaya department store/ Nankai station lots of eating places and small shops. Nothing exciting about the area, just the usual Japan type shopping arcade.

Since our hotel was close to Namba, we ended up being at this area every night. I enjoyed walking in the Bazaar type street in Namba with beautiful Christmas decorations (we were there around Christmas time). Also you can get good deal in some of the shops. For dining, we were rather disappointed with the offers in the main street,... More

This area is a must see when visiting Osaka. There is plenty to do and see. The area is fantastic at night when it is illuminated. The Glico man sign is well known and is a great photo opportunity. The area is filled with great eateries and shops. The giant crab on the front of Kani Doraku restaurant is a... More
