The markets have pretty much moved up the road to Yide Lu. In particular I recommend Onelink International Plaza on the corner of Yide Road and Jiefang South Rd. Seven floors selling literally everything the visitor might desire - home decor, jewellery, clothes and accessories, toys. You don't get hassled like in other markets and malls, and the prices are... If you are looking for designer copy's eg. Hand bags, jeans and no harassment by people stopping you trying to sell you things then this is the place. It's a nice relaxing atmosphere unlike some of the other places. There is not really any bartering and the things are not the cheapest but there is some very nice things and... More

If your looking to buy anything from a phone case to a tea pot this is the place. Spread over approx 9 floors. The top floors have homewares including dinner sets, ornaments, and vases. Great place to shop

As a backpaking student a few years ago, I'd love to wander around wholesale markets around Haizhu Square, espcially Yide lu with my roomates. Different kinds of snacks can be bought there at wholesale price, dried finfish, peanut, jerky, etc, you can find almost everything you want to eat there. Then, strolling down to Onelink Center for dolls, toys, stationary,... More

Haizhu was great ten years ago but most of the outlets have now moved to Yide Road just to the west. Areas include, imported foodstuffs, dried fish (of a hundred different kinds), toys, houseware, packaging, stationery etc. Even the very first wholesale building on the corner of Yide and Jiefang will keep you busy for a few hours on its... This market is getting smaller. I don´t know exactly what is going on but the market is getting decreased every time I came along. However there is the OneLink Center just around the corner. Every Chinese know the place by the same name just one block away. This is an 7-8 floor wholesale market where you can find even more... More

Pretty cool place to shop, but not as cheap as everyone says it is. And make sure you bargain! Some people say not to, but pretty much anything you buy there you can bargain for. Pretty nice area too, but nothing really unique or 'extra ordinary'. You only need about an hour there, so dont make it an all day... More

I was staying at the Landmark Canton Hotel 2 blocks away. Ended up going to the Haizhu market at least 5 times during our 10 days in Guangzhou. You can't mentally take it all in in one trip (from our hotel it looked to be at least 4-5 acres, and 1/3 of it is two story). True that it's cash... More

A hodgepodge of products you will find ranging from GIFT and NOVELTY ITEMS, TOYS, FOODSTUFF, PENS and WRITING INSTRUMENTS, FLOWER ORNAMENTS, HOBBIES, etc. Be prepared to buy at big quantities (usu must be more than a dozen or more) to get best prices. Do not be amazed at how cheap the initial price is... , as you can still haggle... More
