This is a great place to learn about Okinawa and the people of Ryukyu Islands. The displays are done nicely. I see everything that they had to offer, but just did the permanant exhibits. The area was not laid out in an easy way to follow when you are trying to look at the provided English map together with the... More

This Museum covers the loss of life in the Battles of Okinawa. It also have very nice memorial walls with the names of the victims including civilians, Japanese Military and USA Mititary whom lost their lives here in WWII.

We went to visit the special exhibition for the animation originals. In my opinion, the regular exhibition are less interesting unless you are really into art or history.

This nice little art museum is right at the centre of the city and sits among the shopping malls (next to DFS). Worth a 2 hours visit and have a break after all the shopping. You got 20% off on entry fee with a 2 day monorail traveller ticket.

The historical and natural history section is really excellent if you want to know about Okinawa. The fine art section has a permanent exhibit and rotating exhibits, always very nice.

Luckily for us, this place is opened until 8pm on saturday. It is next to Naha main Place shopping centre about 8 mins walk from the Omoromachi monorail station. It is a big modern building with much to see. There is a model of the typical Okinawa house which is free and one can walk through it without the footwear.... More

Very well done. The museum is small and just the right size for its purpose -- showcasing Okinawa. Recreated pieces are done excellently. There's also a very good and informative exhibition on fear on the 2nd floor at the time of visit and a haunted house that I did not go in.
