Coat/mittens/warm clothing, good walking shoes, and at least a small flashlight are a must. The entrance stairs are steep and can be wet/slippery. The lighting inside varies in how well it is placed. The floor surface is uneven and can be wet/slippery. This is a popular tourist destination on Jeju Island and so there will be waves of tourists and... More

If you are a UNESCO World Heritage Site ticker, this is on the list. I’m not a cave fan, so walking into the lava tube, taking a u-turn and walking the same way out in the damp and dark, jostled by rude kids on a field trip wasn’t one of the highlights of my trip. In any case, no regrets... More

The cave is very cool and seems to go on forever. There are informative photos with descriptions along the way so you know what it is you are looking at.

We went there after 5hrs cycling under the Sun at Udo Island. The feeling was like, from oven jump into the fridge - it's definitely have a great cooling effect! It is very much different from Batu Cave @ Malaysia or Silver Cave @ China, Guilin. As this is a Lava Tube. Its long and not much of stalactite or... More

Definitely a special cave. As it is a lava tube, the floor is also made of solid lava, aka uneven flooring. Bring good hiking boots as it takes at least 40 minutes to reach the end. Advice to use a tripod for good photos.

Having visited limestone caves in other countries before, what was different about this experience was the stalactite or staglamite looking structures were not made of limestone but lava. The walking surface was very interestingly grooved unlike limestone caves but called for very careful walking at parts. The lava stack at the end of the section open to public was pretty... More

Manjanggul is a nature creation which 1km of it is opened for visitors to walk through. However majestic it is, if you are not a keen learner of geography or stones and cave, this walk would be boring for you. If you are there in Jeju for a short trip, I would recommend you to skip this instead.

This is not a cave that was slowly worn away. It is a tube that was created in a speck of time. The unique conditions needed to make a lava tube of this size and length is pretty impressive.

Manjang Cave is near the northeast portion of Jeju, therefore if you are staying on the touristy south side of the island it will take over an hour to get here. The cave is part of a cave system that extends for kilometers that has been given some sort of UNESCO title (kind of like every natural sight on the... More

i never been in a cave before. so its all new to me. it can get chilly inside when you go deeper. you need to walk about 1km in to the iconic lava thg. is a really good geographic experience on how such nature create wonders. have a good footwear cause it has uneven and wet surface.
