Panch Mahal at Fatehpur Sikri was originally connected to Jodh Bai's palace. A 5 floor pavilion. It was a wind tower to alleviate the heat and a popular mechanism of Persian architecture. The floors are of column structure that decrease in size as you go down. The pillars originally had covers between them, where the queens and princess on the... More

In Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned city in the desert, built by Akbar (= The Great), the Mughal emperor, take your time to enjoy the beauty of this set of different buildings.

Its an amazing place. Start from Agra to Jaipur and you will arrive here. Its a must visit for all. The palace is truly extraordinary and also attached with so many historic events. Better if you take a guide and he will do the rest. Its a must visit and please dont skip it.

This is a lovely complex of buildings built by one of the Moghul emperors. Wonderful carved buildings & definitely worth a stop.

We stopped here on our drive from Agra to Jaipur. It was a cold day in January. Our guide Nitin told us the story of it's building. The special areas for for the 3 favorite wives and the early version of a chess like game in the courtyard. We visited the king's chambers as well has the room where he... More

Best to have a guide to walk you thru this site. There are so many interesting stories to hear. There is so MUCH history here behind the walls. 3 wives and 3 separate areas for each queen = means some very interesting architecture. We learned more about the Mughal kings. I loved the indo-islamic architiecture - SO romantic.. The Archways... More

A truly splendid Palace. It's easy to imagine Akbar romancing his wives here. I was struck by the innovative design and the fact that it was built so many centuries ago.

Dont be had, its only westerners they try this one with... at worse put your shoes in your bag, or if you visit after the... More

Stopped here on the way to Jaipur from Agra. Very large and very well preserved complex. Coming from the Taj Mahal anything would be a bit of a let down but this place was still pretty impressive. The sheer size and scale of things in something that was built hundreds of years ago is always fascinating to me. Many cool... More
