A must-visit when around the area. A good place to learn about a significant part of India's history. Good collection of extracts and stories about a great man. It is also a very peaceful place, which allows visitors to reflect on their life and experiences. Overall, it is a awesome place to visit

Going through collection of photographs, books and the movable/immovamle possessions of a human being who could be called a Mahatma, Legend or Mass Leadeor even God , capable of fighting a large army single handedly, gives every visitor a chance to relook into his/her own life and reset targets for betterment of humanity as a whole.

I might be a bit biased in this review, given my inclination towards history and my reverence for Mahatma Gandhi. Place has been preserved to lock the scene of early 1930s, when Gandhi stayed here. His room, his house, prayer room, everything is well maintained. It has a library where you can find all books on Mahatma Gandhi. Walk around... More

I went with my friend at about 8am, perfect time to go as it was not sunny and everything yet shut so roads empty. It has collection of Gandhiji's photos of himself at deifferent ages, with different famous people and there is a room which has his letters put up and the entire Dandi Walk shown with the help of... The Gandhi Ashram retains two very unique characteristic of its initial inhabitant and that are - simplicity and peace. The moment you enter the premise of the Ashram from the usually populated Ashram Road, you can sense a calm engulfing you. A very well-maintained premise, with a very well archived history plus museum section that helps you walk through the... More

The ashram where the most beloved man in India lived, walked, spun cotton and preached non-violence is an easy trip from the center of Ahmedabad. And it's well-cared for and maintained. Lying along the banks of the Sabarmati River, this monument to Gandhi is as simple and important as the man whose life is on display. Thank God, there are... More

It has a gallery with Gandhiji's photo's, paintings and his personal belongings. It was an experience to see his house and his room. One end of the ashram has an open view of Sabarmati. Place has a relaxing feel about it.

Extremely serene and peaceful as soon as one enters. Takes you away to a time in the past. Definitely interesting to see how Gandhi lived and to learn his teachings. One can have a look at various of the cottage industries started by Gandhi in the greater campus as well.
