No photo can prepare you of the enormous scale of this place. In the completed hall, every figure has been restored soldiers, horses and wagons. The hall looks like to be 50 meters long and Some 40 meters wide. The guide told me that when the warriors were first discovered, they were all coloured, but the colour disappeared as soon... More

We spent most of the day visiting the different areas of this archeological site. As fascinating as the actual warrior statues themselves is the work that the archeologists are continuing as they reassemble the statues.

This place was the main reason we came to Xi'an. We have seen this so many times in pictures that it is an unworldly experience to be here in person. If you can shut out the crowds for a moment and just contemplate the immensity of the project that created this monument, it's overwhelming. We hired an English-speaking guide just... More

An important place to see. If you went to Xi An, take a tour and visit here. But be aware of the fact, like every tour in China, this is also provided in a sales program. they take you and visit a market, sometimes you are able to find good souvenir to see, but it becomes boring some times. The... More

A wonderful and overwhelming experience. Highly recommend it for a visit to China. We traveled with China Focus and would highly recommend a trip with this group.

We used Bryan Bay as our guide while in Xian, and he was wonderful. We had a limited time in Xian, but wanted to see the Terra Cotta Warriors. Bryan, with his excellent driver, picked us up at the hotel promptly at 8:00 am. He skillfully guided us through the museum all the while telling us historical and interesting facts.... More

I've been to the Terra Cotta Warrior museum on a number of occasions while on business in Xi'an. Xi'an is a bit out of the way, but definitely worth the trip! There is an "orientation" movie in English where the story of the soldiers is told in a 360 degree theater. Be sure to visit this before continuing on to... More

We were part of a tour that visited Xian and the Terra Cotta Warriors. The discovery, the museum, the display, the ongoing archeology and reconstruction efforts are amazing. If I lived to be 200 and went back, they still might not be finished. It is a wonder to see. Try to read about it before you go.

We have always wanted to visit and see this incredible discovery of more than 8,000 Terra-cotta warriors, figures of soldiers, horses and chariots. But to see in person the scope of this, is wonderful. There are three "pits", in covered buildings and as the photos show, just overwhelming. Pit one takes an hour or more to see and understand just... More

No trip to Xi'an would be complete without seeing the Terra Cotta Warriors. It is very busy so be prepared for crowds of people. Also worth visiting the Terra Cotta factory to see how they make the replicas and to learn about the process.
