It was quite a let-down, especially because the drive there was quite long and the road is very bad, besides being one-way in the morning to get there and switches the other way in the afternoon. So even if you're done, you have to wait to get back on the road. The monastery and the atmosphere is lovely, but other... More

Because of the many positive reviews I saw here in trip advisor, I was convinced that Phnom Kulen must be really worth seeing. However, what commentators here didn't state is that you will need to trail down (and go up) the water falls on a dangerous stairs made of wooden planks. Have I known this earlier, I definitely would not... More

Great combination of a drive in the country & seeing an isolated temple, then wandering down to the waterfall where one could have a wonderful swim & get a free fish massage & then the Siem Reap river & the 1000 lingas - interesting

Thoroughly enjoyable day. First, visiting the Buddha that is carved into the rock on top of the mountain(rock that is still growing out of the mountain if our guide told the truth). Walking up the steps to the Buddha our guide had us change about $3 into riel to give to the poor people on the way. Seeing the appreciation... More

My friend took me to Kulen by motorbike, which was an experience in itself! It took about 2 hours and some of the roads were pretty hairy! Lucky he knew them pretty well, but if you're of a nervous disposition I suggest a car! We walked up the river first where there are children asking if you need a guide... More

We rented a car for this trip ($60) since it's a 3hr drive from Siem Reap. We paid $20 as entrance fee. The big falls was breath taking. We were able to swim but the water was too cold!

Kulen mountain is a bit far but it's worth the trip, the Buddha structure on top of the mountain where a lot of believers go and pray, the lingas in the river bed which makes me wonder how did it end there...was it a part of a very big structure or temple that's has collapsed .... Along the way we... More

It takes about 2 hours to reach the top of the mountain. Ensure you spend at least 1.5 to 2 hours here to do justice to the place, visit the Giant reclining Budha temple, get a good English speaking guide who can explain everything and the History to you to make the trip memorable, that is, provided you like history....
