I recently visited the Nichols Arboretum for the first time last weekend. I honestly had no idea it was even there! I was sent there to photograph a family not knowing what to expect is sometimes a little nerve wrecking. Once I arrived and we started walking through the first open area which was filled with flowers I instantly knew... More

This is a fabulous place to visit! There is something new blooming every visit whether it's in the conservatory or walking around on the trails, or the gardens. A visit to the conservatory on a winter day is like taking a mini tropical vacation without the expense of airfare.

We did a family photo shoot at the gardens. However it was a little early for the flowers and plants , a week later would have been better. Will go back later.

We wanted to see some color and remember what warm felt like - so we popped over to the Botanical Gardens. It was exactly as described, several large greenhouses filled with beautiful and interesting plants covering a variety of colors, textures, and geographic origin. Even walking slowly, we were through the whole gardens in 40 minutes. But it was nice... More

We used to borrow trays from the cafeteria and take them to Nichols to slide down the snow-covered hills! It was inexpensive and Fun!

This is where I go to regain my focus, physical and spiritual health, and my reconnection with nature. It is one of the essential features that make AA a desirable city. The arboretum is open from dawn to dusk throughout the year. It is large enough to allow one to find solitude during crowded periods--summer holidays and beautiful days. You... More

Take the kids, or not, great place to walk. Cool places by the river to sit and enjoy. Great to see the helicopters take off right next to you if the hospital helicopters are on training. The walk ways are dirt but well kept. The big meadow in the middle is fun so is the amphitheater.

This place is just beautiful. I went there with a meditation class and we sat on our mats for an hour or so just taking it all in. If you need a spirit-refresher, I'd recommend taking a trip here.

I often stop by in winter such to visit the greenhouse and the tropical plants. The gardens are interesting, but small. There is a fun children's area. None of the hiking trails are long, but you can do them all in a short visit.

A nice spot to stop and see for an hour for a green respite from our Michigan winter. The plantings and facility are beautiful with the different climate zones represented and all of the plantings well marked. A very nice facility.
