Cheap and really easy to get around! We paid just over £3 for a day ticket to get anywhere. The stations are near the attractions and its a great service with a train every few minutes.
Driverless smooth running metro always punctual on time you can be sure of reaching your destination
Surprisingly clean, Dubai metro is one of the best metro I have ever travelled with. Like: clean, dums-proof, efficient, cheap Dislike: - the standard waiting 7-minutes time for any connections - the metro stations are far from any beach - sometimes getting on can be a real challenge (like in every city during the peak hours)
Last time when I visited Dubai, the metro was getting constructed. This time, I got an opportunity to enjoy metro ride wherein I travelled to the Marina station for a meeting at Jumeirah Lake Towers. It gave a nice view of running cars on parallel road.
best to be located somewhere close to union metro station which has access to both lines. cheap efficient travel. trains seemed to arrive within minutes of you arriving at any station. carriages reserved for women and children during certain hours. good to get the prepaid card if you are there for a week or more. saves having to buy tickets... This system is efficient and trains and stations are clean. A shame that is too popular however. Whatever time of the day we used it there were no seats and its hard standing for sometimes a 30 min trip a few times a day
Very clean, modern efficient, frequent trains. Carriages reserved for women and children only during certain hours. Very cheap and gets you anywhere in the city
Completely automated (no drivers), 2 lines running around most of Dubail, connecting airport, Dubai Mall, Exhibition center, Mall of the Emirtaes, Marina etc. 2 classes of service (Gold & standard)- Gold costs double the Standard class cost, and you have separate area in the train. Problem is there are fewer seats and on busy times, you end up standing all... More
The Metro is another example of superb engineering designed to move the maximum number of passengers at the most attractive cost. Trains operate every 10 minutes and are driverless! Every platform on the system is sealed with a glass screen with doors which only open when the train has entered the station and stopped. My tip is to purchase a... More
