(+) One of my fave place in Jogja (+) The place is filled with eclectic and eccentric, most importantly cheap stuffs! They have Kebaya Encim for only $5 (+) Everything about Batik from clothes, dresses, skirts, shoes, sandal, notebook, necklaces, bag, everything about batik with crazy cheap price where you don’t even have to bargain – it saves your time... Mirota Batik offers many options of batik motives, colors, clothing style or even just the textile. However because the place is huge, you have to have the time and patience in looking one by one to decide on your own which one you would like to buy. Or simply buy everything :) because is such a nice batik collection also... More

We went to this place after visiting the Sultan Palace and many detour to small shops near the palace which taken by the tricycle driver. We have to insist that we want to go to Mirota Batik. When we got there, it is a place where u can have everything; Batik, wood crafts, souvenir at the very reasonable price and... More

This is the ultimate place to get Indonesian batik from all over the archipelago. Just look at how crazy crowded the place is with Indonesians buying stuff! I can even find the somewhat rare Cirebon clouds batik here on a regular basis. Look upstairs at all the decorations & don't miss the antiques. An amazing place that's been here for... More

This store is located at the busy yet popular malioboro street in Yogyakarta. The building is big with "Mirota Batik" sign enormously set. I say, finding this store is easy. If you're searching for batik but don't know on what price you need to offer at local market when bargaining, I suggest you to go inside this store and figure... More

If you are visiting Jogja, then this store is mandatory to be in your checklist, no matter show short that checklist is. No nonsense, no scam, no hassle, no need to bargain - you can just observe, pick what you want, put it in the bag and then pay. The price is obviously not the cheapest nor the most expensive,... $70 (give or take, based on the exchange rate) yielded me 4 incredible batik tops the likes of which would be hard to find in the US and will be memorable souvenirs, 12 scarves for gifts for friends (and me), a darling toddler dress, and a couple of cheesy, but cute, doorstops. I could have spent another hour searching for... More

I don't know why they named it 'Cabaret', since there only drag queens singing popular songs with no stories at all. Very entertaining and the ticket is too cheap for that spectacular show. You can take pictures with those queens after the show by the way...

I was so enjoying the atmosphere, it's so ethnic with the dupa smell (traditional aroma therapy) all around the shop and the gending jawa song (Javanese traditional song). We were so enjoying the moment for we didn't realize we had spent quiet long times searching for batik at the shop. It was almost 9 pm, the officer had announced all... More
