The fresh seafood is plentiful and there are many dining options and wine bars along the seaside promenade. A day at the beach here makes for a nice change of pace from Hong Kong. « less

Sai Kung is not only a place for locals including expats to hangout, but also a gateway to different attractions such as Yim Tim Tsai and High Island Reservior. If you are a dog lover, you could see a lot of people bringing out their beloved dogs for a walk on the weekend. There is a flea market on the... More

I love this place it doesnt have any hotels ... yet... but it is a special place. it has a very relaxed atmosphere. The seafood restaurants make this area famous. Huge tanks of sea life...fresh for eating/viewing. The boats on the water makes the area pretty. The area is not the cleanest but it worth a visit.

Just an hour from our hotel, the Sai Kung area has good walks and of course great sea food. A nice combination, and a welcome change from city life.

Sai Kung is a little out of the way from downtown Hong Kong. I know many expats live there and commute but for travellers it is a bit removed. Still it is very interesting to visit. There are many sellers ofan aray of seafood and price are cheap. It can get very busy here on weekends with local visiting as... More

Take a bus or the MTR (subway) to Hang Hou and taxi to Sai Kung, a fishing village with open air restaurants by the water. There are ferries or small boat rides to the bay to spend time away from the crowded downtown scene. .

Was pining for fish and chips and as family are from this region - we visit without fail whenever we are in the territory. The fish was succulent and excellently prepared. Would have liked more chips but that is just me being greedy. They prepare a mean hot lemon tea. On the day we visited it was quite cold and... More

We were looking for something to do and saw Sai Kung on Tripadvisor so decided to go and have a look. From Kowloon you take the red mini bus from Dundas St, Mongkok (just near Ladies Market). It takes about 30 minutes to get there and the ride on the bus is very interesting if nothing else. These drivers know... More

The fishing village is a nice respite from urban Hong Kong. What greets you first as you walk along the seaside promenade are weird sea creatures, some gigantic, floating in large tanks. A sight to see. We had the freshest shrimp and calamares at one of the restos. Then good coffee at a small cafe. The rest of the afternoon,... More

We travelled here by metro to Choi Hung on the green line then took a minibus from right outside number 1A direct to Sai Kung. Did not take more than an hour from Central and felt like we were miles away from the city. Very quaint old fishing village with nice little back streets and lots of seafood restaurants. We... More
