Giraffes eating out of your hands. Incredibly close - watch out for a head but! Worth the trip for kids and people interested in getting close to nature within Nairobi

It was a wonderful safari especially sighting Cheetah and leopard meeting and charging at each other and the lions were watching keenly at Masai Mara.Oh!everyone was anticipating for the worst to happen. Bathing at Mombasa beach and touching wildlife marine creatures. Wauh. Sheldrick Falls guided walking with rangers watching live game. It was fantastic and we took bush lunch in... More

There are different sections: 1) 'Safari Walk' as the name says, you walk inside the forest, following the path already made with suspended bridge. Along the way, you can see animals at close distance. 2) 'Animal Orphanage' is a place where you can see the animals kept in the protected fence. 3) 'Vehicles Drive Safari' is the section that you... 05 May 2013 Currently the 'Museum' is semi-open during refurbishment. Four weeks ago the guide did show us round the inside of the house, but all the furniture, carpets, pictures, etc, had been carefully wrapped up to protect them. He had a very worn out guide book but told us there would be fresh copies once they reopened. Today I... More

We went to the national park, which started with the 'safari walk',saw all kinds of animals at close range....very close indeed!lions, leopards, rhinoceros, buffalo,i llama, giraffes, crocodiles, etc Had a scary experience however when our car got stuck in the mud and we were stranded inside the wild reserve for over two hours...getting dark fast!I knew the wild animals came out to hunt when it got dark... Giraffe Center was one of my favorite stops in Nairobi. Super fun. I recommend going early in the day (when they first open) so it's not crowded, and make sure to bring a camera! The Blixen Museum is very expensive for what you're seeing-- which is a lot of posters of the "Out of Africa" movie. I went because I... More

Biggest problem is price for non-residents. Crazy high and you don't see Elephants and may or may not see Lions. Most likely not--but still charge you as if you were at Masai Mara. Definitely not worth Park Fee. If KWS wants to ruin people coming to parks--then keep increasing park fees. Not sure what they are doing with money, as... More

The Karen Blixen Museum is the property where Ms. Blixen ("Out of Africa") lived. The house and grounds are a well-preserved outpost of colonial days, but mostly of interest to fans of the book or movie. The nearby Giraffe Center is a great place to learn about giraffes, and see the rare Rothschild species up close. An excellent place to... More
