I love the Port! Serene and calm.. real nice to sit and just be there. The breeze adds to the beauty of it.. and you feel refreshed by just there.

well, Doha and Qatar don't have many historical buildings to offer, so you might want to visit Doha Fort. It's not earth shattering, but it's just next to Souq Waqif (which you MUST visit), actually next to the Souq's parking lot. So just have a look. When we were there, some camels were walking in front of it, which gave... More

You can't miss it because of its location, but 2 minutes looking and one photo is enough to put a check mark for this one...

Built during the Turkish occupation in the 19th century, the Doha Fort has been used as a prison and an ethnographic museum. During restoration in the late 1970s, however, many of the original features of the fort were lost. The fort is now being returned to its former glory, as part of the neighbouring Souq Waqif project, and is closed... More

Yes when you go visit there is a coral of Camels so the tourists can see the animal up close. It is quite good for the more timid who don't want to go out to the desert.

Unfortunately this was closed for renovations. Was unable to gain access but part of Souq Waqif so not total waste of time.

and it's good to see a bit of the historical monuments they have available. Doha is trying to provide more to do for expats and one of the things is making their (even though few) monuments accessible.

We were really looking forward to visiting this fort, which had been renovated and was supposed to house an exhibition of traditional costumes. But it was closed! Like a lot of the sites on our list. What a disappointment. The best thing you can say for the fort at present is that is one of the few parts of old... More

Nice, but remote location that is close to the sea and away from most civilization Not much left of the ruins themselves. But, they make for a good photo opportunity.
