it is very tempting to try to touch it but it is almost impossible especially in between prayers, you have to be patient and follow a long queue.
Probably the second most important thing people like to do in the Haram, after the Hajj/Umrah, is to get a chance to kiss the black stone. Some are lucky enough to get to it unscathed, but for most, it involves a lot of pushing and shoving and bad looks from every direction :)

always crowded, it is not easy to reach unless you have to be patient, and follow the queue - only for men- for ladies there is no clear queue.

best experience but shame people push and shove . its a holly place but people do not care they just push u around and try to knock you down so they can go forward and kiss the stone.
I was inches away from touching the black stone however people push through like huligans and injure people around them which defeats the reasons of umrah so didn't bother trying to touch it again
The world's number 1 Wonder! The black stone , the Kaaba, the mosque , everything there is magnificent! And especially the thousands of Muslims people , either black or white united under one roof and praying together ... If I have to come each year , I will do so inshaAllah :)
