The castle had nice views, but it was nothing special. For only 1 JD it's worth the detour, but I preferred Karak Castle.

Combine this castle with Jerash as you are close anyway and there is nothing else around. It's pretty well preserved for a castle ruin and for 1JD you can't really complain. It was nice to see some greenery, get to cooler temps and the view is nice.
Not sure whether you will like the fort but definitely you will like the 360 view once you are there
Showcasing military and archeological might, Ajloun Fort is a pleasant stop. The best part is that the hilltop that the fort is located on, which gives you very nice views. There is also a museum for your viewing. The place is near to Jerash and can be combined at one go. Overall a pleasant sight.
A fort on top of the mountain in Ajloun...from the Crusadors era...It has an amazing view of Ajloun mountains...very nice architectural design, has a small museum....very minimal entrance fee ( 0.25 JD for Jordanians and 1 JD ($1.4) for foreigners)....it is worth the trip....and actually nice drive to get to it since you get to enjoy the views of tree...

For the small entrance fee of 1JOD, Ajloun is worth a visit for the views alone. The fort has a compact museum which is an interesting visit and in general its a good way to spend an hour.
A small castle with a long history though there is not much too see once you are there. great views from the top however. just 1JD to get in but if you are not a big fan of crusader history maybe spend time doing something else. but i enjoyed it however
A lot of people don't bother with Ajloun Fort as they either visit Petra or Jerash, But its worth visting just for the VIEW!! you can see Israel and its also still in very good condition hardly ANY tourists so you literally have the place to yourself.
My driver suggested Aljoun as an easy add-on to Jerash. So glad he did! About 25mins over the mountains (apparently can be snowed in during winter) through vineyards and olive groves to the castle. Aljoun is unusual as one of the very few castles in the region built by the Islamic armies (as opposed to the Crusaders). The castle is...
