This is a huge area with thousands of stone crypts, and a church. The views are spectacular. It's located on a hill overlooking the Kidron Valley which now consists of a highway running between it and the Temple Mount area. You have incredible views of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. I tried to picture Israel's Jewish Temple there - it... More

The aura of the place is free from the overbearing atmosphere of intolerance that pervades the city and its environs. The carers display a sympayhetic courtesy to visitors. It doesn't seek instruct. impose on or guide visitors. A haven of tolerance

With all the history surrounding this place, you'd have to be made of stone not to be humbled. It was my choice to walk up; be warned it's a very steep but rewarding ascent. I arrived through Lion's Gate and crossed the highway (at the traffic light), past the Garden of Gethsemane and up the narrow winding path. When you... More

Loved the view from top of the cemetery. Didn't like the atmosphere of the "grand church" built on top of the Jesus prayer site. Good place to meditate on top where the Jewish grave yard is as you look across he Kidron valley to the Old City.

This was the best holy place we visited in Jerusalem. The mount has many attractions and on this place we really had special feelings for the Jesus history.

It felt a bit like a religious amusement park as everything is so conveniently close by. Maria's grave is worth a visit and just next door you have the cave where Judas betrayed Jesus, beautiful churches just a little walk up. Stop by the little chapel half way up as it has a beautiful terasse with a great view.

Beautiful view over the old city centre of Jerusalem. See things that you have seen before on pictures (if you were traveling prepared)

The Mount of Olives, the Garden of gethsemani, and the Olive Grove, all within 100 metres,I was disapouinted at not being allowed into the Grove, apparently you needed a Vatican Pass, so you come away with half a story, but if you are nimble, go to the far corner and climb over the wall, its worth the effort just to... I enjoyed the history of this area, but most enjoyed the beautiful view of Jerusalem from this vantage point. The beautiful, sunny day made for good pictures.

Hi everyone I visited jerusalem from 04 to 06 of may and wad overwhelmed by the city. We climbed on the mt of olive along with my wife and my little one on my back. The climb is an extremely steep one and hence be prepared to toil it out. But once u reach the top an amazing sight awaits... More
