The Beit Guvrim park includes a Jewish cemetery, a Roman amphitheater, a Byzantine church, public baths, mosaics, burial caves and huge bell caves. One of the latter was used for one of the Indiana Jones'...

I always wanted to go on a dig and be the first person to touch something in thousands of years. The dig was with a small group of English speaking people. It was underground, so it was cool. It was a very special time and my dream was fulfilled!

These caves are AMAZING and not to be missed. Especially neat to climb around inside of one. I'm so glad I visited while I was in Jerusalem.
We had an excelent guide that really enriched the viit. I had been there some 20 years ago but was amazed again and the site is now more extensive. A glimpse into an ancient 'industrial park'!
Our four kids loved digging for pottery shards and bones. After digging for about an hour, we walked through another excavated tunnels, squeezed through small openings and shimmied through crevices. The lead archeologist is open, engaging and happy to answer questions. Definitely worth doing.
Come in the summer when it is hot outside and get down to the cool air and feeling underneath. see the great architecture of caves ..
