There are festivals some nights. then it is crowded but street food is cheep but not in a good taste. can see some entertaining items during festival nights

Located in Colombo 7 which is very upmarket. This is a location which is famous for commercial as well as residential. The location has been very well refurbished and maintained by the government and it looks absolutely clean and beautiful.
If you can take a stroll along green path you will really enjoy it , at whatever time of the day. On one side is the Colombo "s Viharamaha Devi park while on the other side is the rear of the National Museum, then the Art gallery and adjoining it the Nelum Pokuna theater
Nice avenue to jog along, especially early in the morning before near by traffic comes out. Pathway that is off the street along side the water allows you to avoid traffic. There were various shore bird there when I passed through in early January. Its nothing that special. Just a good bit of nature in the city.
