We used Awesome Travel to book a few tours within Hanoi, we found them to be very good. We did a Food on Foot tour which was a lot of fun, our guide I think his name was Hung was great. He took us to lots of little café were we got to eat real Vietnam food such as, deep... More

We were escorted on a walking tour throughout the old quarter, sampling food in the various restaurants as we went. The explanations by our guide were knowledgable and made a lot of the history of the place much clearer. We hugely enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone, rather than driving around this area. Our guide Johnny answered... More

Try the egg coffee aka trung cafe. It's better than it sounds, but it reminded me of tiramisu! I also loved the pho ga or chicken soup. It entirely different than the traditional pho bo but it's somehow comforting even if it's hot and muggy outside.

The start is early - around 6am on a Sunday morning, however for $1 anything is worth trying. Guide is very helpful, telling us lots of little bits of info about life in Hanoi for the locals and speaks good English. We did about 5km walk through streets of the old quarter and then a lap around the lake. After... More

I had a free evening in Hanoi and decided to try this tour. It was superb! (We tried the 3 hour tour) Yen, our guide, was incredibly friendly. She brought us to so many places, and was very passionate in introducing the local food and culture. We tried all kinds of foods (over 10 different ones, some in obscure, local... More

Eat all you like food tour. Really enjoyed. Our guide took us into many different eating establishments, all serving different things and all off the tourist trail. Wow, we ate some good food. Not quite sure what some of it was but would definitely do it again. It was us that called a halt as we could not eat anymore,... More

Found this tour through Trip Advisor and jumped on the opportunity to explore Hanoi's Old Quarter by eating our way through it. We were welcomed by our charming young guide Trang at our hotlel. We began our tour at dusk and walked by Sword Lake on our way to the Old Quarter. We relied on Trang to get us through... More

We used Awesome Vietnam for transfers to/from the airport and the Food on Foot tour. They took use to a local restaurant were we had seafood cooked in a soup with fresh vegetables, on the table before us. The seafood was of very good quality and we really enjoyed the meal. We also had a bottle of local red wine... More
