We especially enjoyed the Dokmai Gardens and the day spent with Swedish botanist Eric Danell. He was very well informed, entertaining, and has so much enthusiasm and passion for his subject that he makes an ordinary vegetable sound fascinating. Eric took us to a local market and explained all the different fruits and vegetables and how they are used in... More

Besides seeing those gorgeous plants, it is actually great place to learn with fun. I have been to Dokmai twice with my partner. We rented a motorbike and followed the signs by canal road. It seems some visitors are being taken by taxi drivers to the Royal Flora Show instead of to Dokmai Garden, I noticed that some people have... More

We spent an interesting day at Dokmai gardens. We used the recommended taxi operator, which I would suggest ,as it is in a fairly hidden location.Upon arrival , we were warmly greeted by Eric and his family. He took us on a fascinating tour of the garden, explaining to us interesting nuggets about the various plants, insects, animals found there. It is... It's fun to rent a motorbike and make the nice drive down canal road to this out of the way gem. The gardens are beautifully maintained, and everywhere you look there is something to observe and learn about. Eric, the Swedish writer of the "Dokmai Dogma" blog, Dokmai scientific advisor, and a brilliant botanical PhD has made an amazing lifestyle... More

We were hesitant to make the trek out to Dokmai Garden after only reading the brief pamphlet, but as we were very interested in permaculture, we took a chance, and wrangled a Tuk Tuk driver into taking us there and back for the afternoon. Upon arrival we were greeted by our fantastic 'tour guide' Eric, who spent hours showing us... More

Tag along with Eric, a botanist originally from Sweden who has an immense knowledge of Thai plants, on a tour of the local market and botanical garden itself. Then, let the staff arrange a stay in Kanin Tai village (population:... More

Dokmai Garden is hostet by a really nice family. The wife is taking care about restaurant and the reception and the husband about the plants. I went to Dokmai Garden on 30th of April and because of the protests I was unfortunately the only customer there. The place is so lovely and all the plants are really good described. Also... More

Spent a few hours here under the guidance of Eric who described to us many of the species of flora in this wonderful garden. In addition to his vast knowledge of plant species he was also very knowledgeable about different species of insect who also inhabit the garden. Although it was dry season when we visited there was plenty to... More
