It was a smelly, windy and really dirty. The kids hated it and the food was not that good. I dont really recommand it.
The beach and the dunes are the beauty of Nouakchott. The sand feels wonderful. Everyone's out there; Frenchies, other foreigners, Maurs in mulawfahs and bou-bous, Afro-Mauritanians. As cold as it was in Nouakchott when I stayed there, it was remarkably warm on the beach. The proprietor set up tents to hold the warmth while not obsuring the view of the water.
