It would be great to be able to see inside the mosque to 'feel' the spirit of Islam that is all around.

You can't miss it, and it is nicely lit up at night. We couldn't go inside but it has an interesting history.

Nio matter where you are in the city you can see it. The mosque is simply exquisite and seems to be the guardian of the city.

Shame they didn't repaint it. Can't miss it it's big. Best bit is the call to prayer. Quite a nice atmosphere created by the horse carriages lined up next to it when it's lit up in the evening.

The outside is a mosque with a high minaret, and a large area with remains of an older mosque. Apart the minaret, nothing special. But, I would have liked to go in the mosque. But, when doors of a mosque are open, as soon as one approaches a bit, the locals start saying "défendu, défendu..." You're not even allowed to... More

Though non-Muslims are not allowed inside, the exterior of the mosque is quite beautiful, and is a great photo-op. Though, in my opinion, there are many more stunning mosques in the world, the Koutoubia Mosque is a signature site in Marrakech, and shouldn't be missed.

Must visit, beautiful. But be mindful of the people asking for money as once you give one you have to give them all so have plenty of change on you!

Non-Muslims are not allowed to visit, but you can see the architecture up close. This is an iconic landmark in Marrakech.

The mosque is the tallest building in Marrakech and can be seen from most places. The history is interesting, but its best to have a tour guide with you that will tell the story. You cannot go into the mosque unless you are a muslim so i cannot say what it looks like from the inside. It opens up half... More
