The Baywalk is an escape from the busier places on Anna Maria. It is only small in area but is peaceful and has wonderful views. It is never crowded but is a great way to spend half an hour away from the beach

Took a recent 1 hour walk at Coquina Baywalk with our two children aged 8 & 5. Lots of shady areas which meant we weren't in the full glare of the midday sun. Lots of pretty places to bird, fish and dolphin spot as well as watching the passing boat traffic. The kids really enjoyed it and we appreciated its...

The trails that wind through the park make it seem far larger than it really is, and that is a lovely thing. You get the opportunity to see wildlife, marine life, insects and other wonderful Florida sites that should attract even the most reticent person. It has free admission, and it's a great way to spend a few hours!
The baywalk was a pleasant hike through mangroves near the bay. Part stone path/part raised wooden deck trails lead you to the bay. Educational markers throughout describe the ecology in the area. Nice quiet area to enjoy Florida's nature.
Not on the scale of Robinson Preserve, but there are numerous water viewpoints and from these we observed a heron and a spoonbill wading the shallows and three dolphins swam by probably 30 yards away from us. It was fun to walk through a mangrove forest and see zillions of crabs scuttling into their holes at your approach. You can...

this is a nice, quiet walk along the bay, we saw lots of birds and nice views from the top of the hill
The walkways lead into mangrove baylands, a peak at quiet corners of bay life that are not easily seen elsewhere.
A pleasant way to get away from other crowded areas nearby and to remember why you came to the island in the first place: many views of the bay and sightings of wildlife (even unwanted ones, such as those crawly spider/crablike creatures by the hundreds hiding under the boardwalk at the end of the trail where it becomes mossy and...

Peaceful and not well traveled, which is very nice for a nature walk. I have even taken my bike, but the paths become narrow and hard to navigate by bike--walking it is much better. Signs along the way help identify nature's local abundance.
A beautiful area for walkiing and shopping. Lots to see and do. Nice restaurants and gorgeous pier with seating and swings to watch sunrise or sunset.
