This is an easy walk from downtown or your hotel. The creek or river runs along it and it's a nice walk to the wooden bridge at one end. His songs on the large stones are a great tribute to a great man! I have only heard about the updates that have been made but have not seen them. I... More

We chilled here for an hour or so after a big bike ride. The setting is beautiful beyond belief. Set on the banks of the Roaring Fork River with strategically placed giant boulders engraved with some of John Denver's most famous song engraved. The backdrop is the rooftops of the West End over shadowed by the mountains. A lot of... More

If you are looking for a really peaceful place in downtown Aspen, head over to The John Denver Sanctuary. It is so peaceful and some of his songs are carved into the stones. If you have a dog there is a good place for him to swim.

September 2013 will find two of Aspen's residents saying their "I do" to each other in the John Denver Sanctuary. Now that's a great review!

Even in winter, on a sunny day, the sanctuary was a pleasant stroll and a walk down memory lane as we read and sang (well--I said it was singing but my husband might disagree) the lyrics etched into the rocks, from ever popular John Denver tunes; Rocky Mountain High, Perhaps Love, Sunshine On My Shoulders.

Do drop in even though if you are not a fan of John Denver. This place is just beautiful to walk around and reflect.

It was a sunday when we went on a regular picnic and found a lot more than what we expected. Rocks , pebbles, crystal water and what not! It has been a delight. Serene and secluded you feel in the lap of mother nature its a #1 retreat.

With Aspen Mountain in the background and the rocks and water, this is a great place to do a family photo. Summer time is the best, there are flowers everywhere
