Fun, touristy place to walk, people watch and enjoy boutiques, shops and vendors. Perhaps not where I would choose to drop all of my money as it is touristy, but very fun and enjoyable nonetheless.

This shopping road on the Pest side of Duna is really nothing to see. Overpriced restaurants, gypsies begging and trying to sell you cell phones and souvenirs made in Hong Kong made us activley avoiding it.
If you are looking for western brands and restaurants you might like it, but take the subway a couple of stations east and explore...

Also many hungarian restaurants as well as fast food outlets(yuck) the restaurants are great, not to expensive and you will get big helpings! so don't order too many courses or you waste them. Located close to the danube running parallel to it on the Pest side.
Most of our evening walks came along here at some point. Lively tourist spot with lots of cafes and restaurants.
As a tourist in Budapest (if you not are careful), you'll fall a permitted and easy prey to all those creative Hungarian sly dogs who have made it to their main task to take your money away from you. Vaci Utka is a very nice street where to just spend your time and most of the restaurants and shops are...

Variety of stores and restaurants! Good place to grab a bite to eat and shop. My husband needed sunglasses and we easily found a pair!
It is the place where everybody who visits Budapest finally arrives. You shouldn't miss this either. However, beware of restaurants and shops on the Váci street, they are quite expensive. You'll find very good, way cheaper Hungarian restaurants just a few streets away.
Our hotel was in Buda but as we like walking we walked up to the Fisherman's Bastion, first to enjoy the view of Dunabe's river and beautifull buildings on it's side( one of then really amazing is the Parliament) and secondly , we had our coffee and delicious sweets at Ruszwarm ,the oldest confectionery of Buda. Then walking along the...

The Váci utca is the main tourist area and pedestrian shopping street in Budapest. It’s mostly a tourist attraction these days, with lots of over-priced restaurants, small souvenir shops, and larger brand-name stores mixed amongst the fabulous architecture. Western tourist traps are also found here…namely the Hard Rock Café and McDonald’s.
When walking down Váci utca, keep your eye open...

Vaci Street was very disappointing. Glad we didn't make any huge effort or go out of our way to get there. Extremely touristy, pushing folks hawking stuff, overpriced stores, no local flavor. For shopping, go to Central Market. For restaurants go to Raday Utca or Marcellos across in Buda.
