We went to hear Benko Dixielandband with guest artists. It was quite fantastic. The big Bela Bartok consert hall was filled up with entusiastic public. The Palace of arts is an attraction for itself, but try to attend a consert. It is easy to buy tickets by the internet.Adress: mupa.hu. You get an English version there

I recently visited the Palace of Arts in Budapest, and it was great. The Palace of Arts is more like a modern day concert hall with great acoustics (the main concert hall is built on metal spheres to cancel unwanted vibration from nearby traffic for example) and some rally fine contemporary architecture. The building itself is worth a visit for... More

Worth hearing a concert here especially one that will use the gigantic organ there. Also, spend a while and stroll the sculpture gallery outdoors from the building going upstream about 200 meters. You must stop in the toilets and see the automation there.

Absolutely superb. The orchestra and conductor were TOPS! The venue is glorious - like some kind of heavenly jukebox. Amazing. Wonderfu. Young Italian started the concert with some Beethoven and received SEVEN curtain calls. Great night for music in the snow!

If you have the opportunity to visit Budapest in March make a note of visiting the Palace of Arts web site and book ( you will need to ) seats for the annual celebration concert for the Hungarian Composer Bela Bartok. A wonderful evening of classical music in a superb venue. I have never heard better accoustics. It will be... More

Have visited this place twice during Spring Festival - first to the smaller theatre to watch an adaptation of The Magic Flute, and second to the main hall for Mendelssohn, Britten, Verdi from a 20 piece orchestra and opera singer. The acoustics in both rooms are exceptional, but also the main concert hall is quite stunning. I sat on the... More

Some say it's too modern, others say it was too expensive to build. But the truth is that if you properly choose a programme, you will never be disappointed. Staff is always very friendly, the booking of tickets is easy, seats are comfy, you can hardly find a bad part... The only strange thing is about the parking: if you... More

Fantastic building, wonderful performance of Marriage of Figaro. One big fault - far too hot in the auditorium.

We went to see Sir Simon Rattle and the Age of Enlightenment Orchestra. We were amazed when we saw the wonderful wooden walls, the huge pipe organ and listened to the orchestra. We really enjoyed the evening and the music, but just to see this really amazing building is worth the visit.

It' s a very unique, modern building. I was there on a really good jazz concert, the staff is very friendly and polite. The ticket's price isn't too high.
