A well preserved piece of the city and gives an idea of how the city was protected. Since most of the former walls of the city are gone, it gives a good visual to how things were back when. It is home to musicians and artists these days and there's a park out front.

Interesting remainder of a city gate on the old city wall, close to the main square, accessible via the Planty walk route or square. Helps you imagine what access to the city would have been like when the wall was complete

An impressive piece of architecture from the past. Well preserved and more than worth a visit. I recommend taking one of the very many little carts around the old city, not expensive and if there are just 2 of you then it is possible to strike a deal with the driver at below normal cost.

The city of Krakow used to be surrounded by a wall and moat. The moat was filled in and turned into a park, and most of the wall was torn down. This gate and its surrounding wall (a few hundred yards total), as well as the neaby Barbican, seem to be all that remains of these old fortifications.

For those who posted that this place is poor I really feel sorry for as its an amazing place that you absolutely must go with a guide. Its not ostentatious like so many other places but its one of the most important places in Krakow. Take a few minutes to observe the miniature in metal that its there and surprise... More

...that really lets you recreate the original state of this powerful city-fortress. The original walls are still standing on both sides next to the gate, enhancing this medieval feeling.

The St. Florian's gate was the port between over hotel and a flat we were visiting. The Gate is worth seeing, especially because every time we passed the gate we always was listening to some musicians playing national music.
