Had not been to the Whangarei heads before, was a pleasant surprise, nice little bays, nice views across harbour. We could see our selves in Retirement there
When you travel to Whanagarei, Whangarei Heads is an absolute must to see. Wonderful views to see, Even better is to go out on a boat and see the heads from the sea. Wonderful rock formations. Keep it on your bucket list for Whangarei
Whangarei Heads is an undiscovered, unspoilt wonderland. A MUST visit on your trip north. A great Café at Parua Bay and the Tavern serves good food, great beer and fantastic view. Venture further out for a breath taking experience of sandy beaches and volcanic pinnacles. Simply stunning.
very nice and steap walk up to see a very nice view on the chicken and hens islands. The path can be treacherous from the peach cove car park… be careful and 3h needed to do the loop to the ocean beach car park
I live at Parua Bay, Whangarei Heads after seeing it on a holiday visit. This is the most beautiful area for artists and photographers. Volcanic mountains, sleepy villages, harbours, the ocean, port, inlets, you name it we've got it. Also great walking treks and fishing adventures can be enjoyed.
Rather anticlimactic as there isn't really anywhere to stop and enjoy the views once you reach the Heads!
