It is rather nice that a small city like Launceston can have a pleasant little place like the city park available so close to the city centre. The park is a wonderful refuge for the travel weary.

Definitely worth a visit if you only have a day or two in Launceston, and you can go for 10 mins or two hours.
Japanese Macaques are very easy to watch (especially with kids).
There are lots of very smooth paths for scooters and bikes, a great little playground, and acres of lush lawns with magnificent old trees.

Me and my girlfriend are frequent visitors, love a stroll and look at the monkey's and ducks on way through to town. Highly recommended, great place for kids, families, couples etc.

Lovely park top class conservatory with wonderful plants The mo keys are a great attraction for children.
The conservatory was excellent, the Japanese marmots entertaining and the park a green oasis in the city....
We strolled through here after brunch and spent a good 20mins fascinated by the Monkies. The lawns were well manicured and the flowers in season were in full bloom. Most relaxing.
Pretty place, nice park, good to take a break from walking and shopping here, nice piece of nature with plenty of trees, grass, and space
Beautiful gardens. Immaculately kept. The monkeys were fascinating. My daughter loved it. Parking might be a problem on weekends.
