“on a boat in the pitch dark is quite an experience”

It starts with a pleasant boat trip across the lake to reach the cave. The entrance is low and once inside you are presented with water falls and their tremendous roar. You move on to you reach your boat which guides you through to see the gloworms in complete darkness. This is a strange experience as you can't see anything... More

Its like the rest of the area the scenery just never stops I have been to north islland 3 times and this is my 1st visit to the south why have I not done this sooner in better visibility I am kicking myself More

When the owner of 'La Dolce Vita', Roberto, told me he'd migrated to NZ from Lake Garda in northern Italy, I wasn't surprised. The lake front is beautiful and we had a very long,pleasant walk along the lake. Just a lovely atmosphere, it's somewhere to go to relax and just enjoy the scenery. More
