A truly enjoyable tour, well worth the cost. The captain and guide were knowledgeable and passionate about the region, providing facts, history, and an eagle eye for spotting dolphins, seals, and penguins, all three of which we were lucky enough to see. The boat was very clean, comfortable, and perfect for viewing inside and out based on the cold and... More

Booked milford sound nature cruise with real journeys, but the visibility was absolutely appalling prior to departure. Requested a cancellation as we knew the cruise would not be enjoyable, but were told that 24 hour notice is required. As a result we were forced to do the cruise. Cruise was dreadful due to poor visibility and rough water and we... More

This was a most enjoyable tour. The guide was well-informed and able to make himself heard during the noisy [because of the rushing water] entry to the silent boat ride. The information session was comprehensive. Very tall, or older visitors may find the entry to the caves a little daunting as you have to bend low for about two metres. More

We went on an overnight boat trip with Real Journeys to Milford Sound and had a brilliant time. The coach took us from Te Anau, along with others from Queenstown and the driver was great - he was safe, very informative and friendly, stopping regularly along the route so the journey there was very much part of the experience. The... More

We did both the Milford Sound bus/cruise and the Doubtful Sound/Manapouri dam tour with this company and cannot speak highly enough of them. Oustanding, informative and entertaining tour guides ( Curls on Milford, John on Doubtful) these trips were very good value for the money paid and offered far more than we could have acheived on our own. Milford is stunning, tho rammed with fellow tourists. A friend recomended an overnight cruise. It was brilliant! We departed in the evening and had an informative cruise then had opportunity to do one kayaking. After, we had an excellent meal. expecttaions were admitidly low, saying as it was a small cruise vessel. But we were impressed! Ditto for breakfastt. Rest... More

The lovely Southland bloke who drove the bus on our trip to Manapouri Dam, and up to Wilmott Pass to look down on Doubtful Sound. He was so helpful and friendly. More

It was quick and easy to book from real journeys. Their boat was comfortable and looked brand new. At he glow worm caves, I dont think they were real journey people but the staff over there was very informative. Glow worm caves is one of a kind and it was totally worth it. There was one thing to watch out.... More

Spent a brilliant day on Doubtful Sound with Real Journeys. Everything was extremely well run, well organized, the guides very knowledgable and entertaining, and even the boxed lunch they provide above average. They do an amazing job, you won't be disappointed traveling with them! More

My wife and I, and who is disabled and confined to a wheelchair wished to go to Milford Sound, But Real Journeys could not provide transport for a disabled person from Te Anua to Milford, also if we made our own way to Milford Sound . They could only offer us the basic One and half hour trip and not... More
