EcoTours' Milford Sound tour with Mr. Russell was filled with beautiful vistas and was worth the price! We appreciated his mention of emergency exits in the bus and reminders to fasten our seat belts. Russell shared a wealth of interesting information - historical, geographical, demographical, trees, birds, animals, avalanche, tunnel construction, myth about Lake Wakatipu, etc. -without referring to any... This was brilliant, something not to be missed. Frank was our driver/guide and we were very impressed with his skills. He delivered a good presentation in a clear concise manner and generally made sure that everyone was well looked after. The cruise was also fantastic and we were able to get up close to some seals which was nice. All... More

We took a bus from Te Anau up to Milford Sound. It was just a wonderful drive up there. The landscape was amazing and we did a few stops to see things along the road. Frank our driver knew a lot about the Fjordland and especially the sounds. Yummy picnic lunch was included with the bus tour up there. It... More

Our bus driver Russel was very imfomative on the long trip to Milford Sound. Plenty of stops and interesting facts. The coach is very roomy for the five hour trip. Nice picnic lunch provided on the cruise on Milford. The smaller Juicy cruise boat was also a better option than some of the other larger, overcrowded boats. Overall an enjoyable... More

Let's face it - the 8-hour drive to Milford Sound and back hardly sounds appealing. However, it's entirely worth it, as you'll pass through unimaginably varied scenery, which surpasses even that showcased in the Lord of the Rings. If you get a particularly friendly driver/guide, such as our Kylie, enjoyment is guaranteed. The coach is as comfortable as it gets,... More

If you are looking for a smaller day tour to Milford Sound would recommend Ecotours. Simon the tour guide has a good knowledge of the ecology and geology, providing a good amount of commentary along the way. He was very friendly and happy to accommodate as many or as few stops along the way as you would like. They also... More

Jesse picked us up from the backpackers and we were really impressed by his knowledge on the botany and history of NZ. There were few photo-stops and a decent picnic lunch was provided during the cruise. Milford sound is impressive and we thought the rain was a bummer. But later we were informed that the rain was the reason behind... More

I'm so glad I booked the bus trip as well as the Milford Sound cruise. We went on the tour on the 30th of December 2012. Our Driver Jesse picked us up from our accommodation just after 7am.
