Our family of three found this hike to be spectacular. Loved the scenery and the exercise. Would strongly recommend for an easy free day.
we were staying at 8 on Walmer a bookabatch house in Bell block area and decided on an evening stroll, the coastal walkway was very close and we discovered easy walking ,with a pavement surface ,lots of access ways to the beach and lovely views of the mountain as the mist cleared around the top. young, and old...families, cyclists, young mums with pushchairs....and for a couple like us, it is wonderful to have a purpose-built walk-way right beside the ocean, cafe's, the railway lines...and views of our gorgeous Mount Egmont. Brilliant.
Well set out walkway. Look and see the sea. Extends from Port to a township near by with a beautiful bridge halfway. Best of wall it runs by the city centre and is easily accessed from a large number of points. The distances are well marked out and is used a lot for fitness. Used a lot by the workers... More
Beautiful views of the coast as you walk or ride along the walkway. most of it is pretty flat and an easy relaxing walk. Not hard to do a 10 km walk without even realising it. Great on a sunny summers day. I live NP and walk along there on a fairly regular basis.
Mountain to surf are the view you can enjoy on this well constructed and very well used coastal walkway. Its access from the city and in fact almost anywhere along its length are easy for walking, biking, wheel chair access, roller blading, or jogging. A great way to exercise and see some wonderful coastline at the same time. A shame... More
