Been a few years since we have been but well worth the short drive from Napier. The views are amazing over the Hawkes Bay, its a must do! The road in narrow but people are thoughtful so nothing to be concerned about.

Te Mata peak offers amazing views of wine country hawkesbay, make sure you go up the look out on a clear day and you can see for miles!!

Ventured up to the peak at 630 am to watch the sunrise, it was stunning definitely worth it. There was a sea of fog all around the mountain, so so pretty, but also cold!

It's definitely a must-go destination. It's so breathtaking that you wouldn't want to leave, though it might get a bit chilly and windy. Saw a kid (10/12 years old) rode a mountain bike all the way up to the top. Take my hat off to him... Wonderful place New Zealand...

You can reach the top of Te Mata Peak by driving, biking, or hiking. It's a nice place to relax and enjoy the view. Sometimes along the way, there are sheeps roaming around.

Amazing almost 360 views! It was a good drive with fantastic views. If you have the energy park and walk up, but it's super steep.

Must visit - great walks up the peak - View at the top is incredible - you can see for miles & is breathtaking!!

great views of hawkes bay, and great walks. A couple of good looking abseiling sites, but we have not yet completed them. We visit the area at least once a month, well worth it
