Moving place. amazing views of the city. No fee to get in (donations appreciated though). Currently undergoind works outside but still fully accesible
The Shrine was very interesting historically, but it also is a place to visit to understand more about who the Australian people are, to understand the impact of WWI upon the entire country. I found this a very moving place.
I have visited the Shrine of Rememberance because I heard it takes your breath away. This is an amazing building inside and out and well worth a visit. It is a beautiful reminder of those who died for the country and a serene and peaceful place to reflect. It also has stunning views from the roof top and I love the big flame and sculptures at the base of the stairs.
The Shrine is Melbourne to me, when I look towards St Kilda rd the view of shrine is stunning and look back at the city from the steps of the shrine is not to be missed
I recommend all visitors go to the shrine, as it is an impressive structure surrounded in beautifully laid out gardens, and provides visitors with a different aspect of how Australians coped with wars a long way from our shores. it's free.
