A great site to spend a relaxing hour or two. Well presented with excellent views over the river. The gardens are well cared for and really worth a visit.

Beautifully laid out, with views over the water, we went in winter and there was still a lot to see so imagine if you want in summer... I'd been wanting to go since the ABC Gardening show had their veggie patch there and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The access is terrific although it's quite undulated if you are in a... More

Quite an extensive collection of plants, I particularly loved the Japanese garden. Interesting sculptures in the park as well. For the price of a gold coin donation it's good value for the whole family. Great views too.

A lovely view, very busy on the day. Quite an extensive menu. For the price a little expensive, but very enjoyable. We had a living social voucher which made it good value but I don't think I'd pay the full asking price. A beautiful place and a walk around the gardens after lunch just completed the experience. So I guess... More

We enjoyed roaming the paths. A joy was the japanese garden. The Old trees that we found were a joy. The mothers with young children rolling the slopes and picnicing were showing a childhood and parental memory that was a step back in time.

A lovely treasure that is still free to visit. Beautiful gardens to walk through and to sit down and have lunch. Only negative was beening Mothers day the resturant was booked out and the kiosk was running low on food, we were lucky to get some of the last couple of pies and muffins, there was a bit of a... Perfect spot for a book club meeting, there is a great "library" area under the main building, but if its a glorious day as it was when I visted, you should take advantage of the onsite bean bags and sit under the lovely old trees with picnic basket and book in hand.

A great place to spend a couple of hours unwinding and enjoying the outdoors. The Japanese garden is absolutely beautiful especially in autumn and worth the visit all by itself....
