Did the mountain bike tour with wife and teenage daughter. Amazing views, windy and cold in January. Then the bike ride down to the wharf - thrilling! As would do it again it was so much fun!

I loved that you can see all the way down the channel and river but if it is cloudy while you are up there it can be a waste of time. The trip above the tree line is interesting and on a clear day it is definitely worth an hour or two. Better still climb it. Note the stream that... More

Easy trip up the mountain (when roads are open) to capture a great perspective of Hobart and its coast.

Beautiful self drive up the mountain - deceiving from a distance as there is actually quite a pretty forest and a few bushwalks that can be done however the real treat is the view at the top. Worth a half hour or so clambering over the rocks and getting the 360 views. Wear proper shoes. Warm and sunny when we... More

We went up here on a slightly overcast cloudy day. We did not have time to go again so just thought we would hope for the best! Hope we did, but that was it. It was very cold and windy and could not really see anything of Hobart. Would have loved to experience it on a nice clear day, but... More

No markets on in Hobart went to Mt Wellington. WOW windy just doesn't give true experience. Even our wee bus rocked violently. Fantastic views, great way to remove conwebs, literally!!!

We took a tour(shuttle Bus) to Mt Wellington's summit. This could so easily be an indifferent report. It all depends on the weather whether the tourist should visit here. The blue sky, warmish temperatures in Hobart were the signals to visit. We were not disappointed. It seemed we were on top of Tasmania as all corners of the state were... More

The views of Hobart from Mt Wellington are spectacular on a clear day but at all times of the year its freezing up there and generally windy, so to thoroughly enjoy the view take something warm to wear. Don't be surprised if the doors of your car don't automatically open with the electronic key when you return to the car... More

Wow ... according to the news, we experienced category 3 winds, approx. 120kph. It was exhilarating. There is a carpark and viewing area. Wonderful views across Hobart plains. The windy, scenic drive from Hobart central to the top takes about 20 minutes. Very picturesque and windy. The view is worth the trip.
