I had lived in Brisbane for 10 years and never made it to this museum, I have now returned to live here after a year away and went to this museum my first weekend back. The two current exhibitions are about Expo 88 (to mark the 25th anniversary) and an ongoing exhibition about the Brisbane river. I found both exhibitions... More

After I finally found the museum, and I found the right lift, and used it after 10am I made it to the exhibition and I was glad I had persevered with finding it. It was fun, informative, really well displayed and appealed to me a lot. I will definitely visit other exhibitions here in the future. City hall is very... More

I say we are "new locals" because we have been in Brisbane about 16 years:-) Much of the time the City Hall had been falling down or under renovation. The Museum has been moved around with no sense of place.. Finally it is back at home and has the third floor of the now stunning city hall to show off... More

Great spot especially for kids and also FREE. very well done and user friendly and can be done at the same time as GOMA. Food near by and a very good walk along the river.

So disappointed. I expected a nostalgic and education experience but alas, it was an amateur and simply boring exhibition of a minute part of Brisbane. The museum is cramped and the majority cramped into corridors. It's dark and uninspiring. If you expect a museum you'll be disappointed, it's a very low standard art exhibition.

Not a huge place but lots of interesting information on the start of Brisbane and the development of the Brisbane river. Lots of interesting photos. The section on expo 88 brought back memories, worth a visit

If you're a visitor to Brisbane or even if you've lived here all or most of your life (like me),you must visit the Museum of Brisbane. It was always a lovely place to visit but now that it's housed on the 3rd floor of the refurbished City Hall, it's a beautiful space in which to explore Brisbane's history through panoramic... More

I was quite impressed with the Museum of Brisbane. The Brisbane River section was my favourite as it offered an interesting video of the river and local artist's paintings

an opportunity to learn about Brisbane City - its attractions and history. There are plenty of colourful photos, a repeating movie and much more.

The newly open Museum of Brisbane is a must see for Brisbanites and visitors. Aim to get there as soon as possible after opening time (10am) to get (free) tickets to the clock tower. Tickets are limited as the lift only takes 7 passengers and runs four times an hour. The museum currently has an outstanding retrospective of Expo 88.
