Give yourself plenty of time. Wonderfully set out plenty of old TV memories. Make sure you watch the presentation in the theatre. Wonderful cafe on site and the staff were very friendly and helpful.Easy to park. A must to visit next time you are in Canberra

Loved it make sure you go into the talk about the old films and television. We had lovely lady Camilla who was very well versed and talked about the film clips dating back to 1896, loved the bandstand clip! Could spend a day there great work!

Our visit here was a great insight into the work that the archivists do to maintain Australia's rich film and sound history. We could easily have stayed longer and played more with the displays. Don't miss the shop - some great and unusual items are for sale.

But wait, this review is about the Archive isn't it? Well, the screenings here are a little different, but they have occasional festivals here (we were here for the Japanese one) which lend interest. And their store is quaint and well-laidout.

The National Film & Sound Archive is fairly small so only an hour is really needed to enjoy it. That said I recommend to everyone to take a look as I learnt a lot and it's very interesting.

Visited very quickly on a Sunday afternoon. The NFSA has a cinema but we missed a screening so sent half an hour in the museum which covered Australian radio, film and television history. While there are activities for children, most of the exhibits would appeal to older folk and get them off on reminiscing about "the good old days". The... More

This is one of those places that wasn't on my list of Canberra attractions to visit but I'm glad I did. It's fairly close to the city centre, near the 'shine dome', also one of the stops on the free Canberra 100 bus route (just after the National Museum of Australia). It's free admission and open 9am to 5pm every... More

This place is disappointing, there really isn't much to see. It's one of these places that you whisper to who your travelling with and say "is this it?"

Arrived just in time for an hour free show of old movies and ads starting way back in 1907 with a "Ned Kelly" movie bits found under the floorboards of an old house! Went on with "Bandstand"clips and many Aussie relics, ( remembered a few too many for my liking!)

Spend an hour or two here - free. Close to the centre of the city, and interesting. Not huge but plenty to see.
