A quick stop and hike off of Hwy 1 (it's well marked) takes you past (yet another) breathtaking view of Big Sur! Mark this as a place to stop if making the drive - it can be a quick stop and is well worth it!

This State Park is a definite must see if travelling around Big Sur, California. There are several trails, but the most popular one is to see McWay Falls, the only waterfall that goes directly into the Ocean. This was an easy hike on a pretty flat gravel path to see the waterfall and breathtaking views.

We stopped here on our way from Monterey to Anaheim early in the morning. It was really quiet and the weather was fantastic, it truly is a beautiful sight and seeing the Condors was a bonus.

We took a fairly short hike in the park and ran across a beautiful cove with turquoise water (I swear) and a waterfall. The park is beautiful and well worth the short turn off Highway 1. We really enjoyed it.

Needed some warm up runs prior to Big Sur Marathon, was great. People camping there looked happy and relaxed.

DO NOT miss this park and especially McWay Falls if you are anywhere near Big Sur.
Parking on the road is easier to get to the falls if you find a spot. If not you will have to drive into the Parking areas on the east side of RTE1 and walk out to the ocean. Either way . . DO...

We stopped here on our drive north on route 1. Park in the park area and put your park entry fee into an envelope located on a small box outside of the restrooms by the map board. This was one of my favorite stops along the coastal hwy. Easy half mile Overlook trail which leads you to the amazing view of the small waterfall dumping onto the beach in a cove area where the water looks like the caribbean.

We had our wedding at he group campground. Nothing could have been better. Almost impossible to book, but worth every second. My wedding was everything and more. Truly I couldn't have imagined better
